Terms of use
Last updated 18 August 2026 · effective from the same date · RunnerEdit, published from Canada
These terms apply to everyone who reads runneredit.com. By using the site you accept them. If you do not, please stop using the site.
1. What this site is
RunnerEdit is an independent editorial publication about free match-3 and sweet-puzzle titles distributed through Google Play. Every entry in the catalogue reflects the opinion of the desk after playing the title on a real handset. Opinions are not statements of fact, other readers may reasonably disagree, and nothing here is professional advice of any kind.
2. Accuracy of the figures
Titles, developer names, store ratings and review counts are read from the Canadian Google Play storefront when an edition is prepared and reproduced without rounding. Those figures change continuously as players keep rating, and a studio can update, rename or delist a title at any time. The store page is always the current authority; treat what you read here as a snapshot of the day it was written.
3. How RunnerEdit is funded
Reading the catalogue is free and always will be. The desk is funded by its own optional membership, Plus, described in the next section. Placement in the catalogue is decided by the desk alone and is not for sale: no studio pays to appear, no studio sees a write-up before publication, and no studio can have a line changed afterwards. Links to Google Play are ordinary links provided so you can check a store page yourself.
4. Plus membership
Plus is RunnerEdit’s own membership. It adds extended write-ups, early access to new collections, a weekly e-mail digest and the archive of past editions. It does not remove anything from the free catalogue, which stays open in full.
- Rates. C$4.90 per month, or C$39 per year charged once for the year. Rates are shown in Canadian dollars and include any applicable federal and provincial taxes.
- Staged activation. The programme is being activated in stages. Submitting the form on the main page places you on a waiting list; it does not create a membership and does not authorise any charge.
- Confirmation before anything is charged. Seats open gradually. Nothing is charged until a seat has been offered to you in writing and you have accepted that offer. If you do nothing, nothing happens.
- Cancellation. A membership can be cancelled at any time, with no notice period and no cancellation fee, by replying to the confirmation e-mail or writing to the desk. Access continues to the end of the period already paid for; monthly members are not charged again after cancelling.
- Changes to rates. If a rate changes, existing members are told at least thirty days beforehand and may cancel before the new rate applies.
- If the programme does not proceed. Should Plus be discontinued before it opens fully, everyone on the waiting list is told by e-mail and the list is deleted. Nobody on the list is ever charged for a seat that did not open.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies the rights given to you by the consumer protection legislation of the province or territory in which you live, including the Consumer Protection Act in force there. Where a service we supply fails to meet a guarantee given by that legislation, you are entitled to the remedies it provides, including a refund for a major failure. Every statement we make about Plus — its rates, what it includes and the conditions attached to it — is kept accurate and capable of being substantiated, as the Competition Act requires of representations made to the public. Those rights sit above anything written here.
5. Independence and affiliation
RunnerEdit is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or otherwise connected to Google LLC, to Google Play, or to any studio named on this site. Google Play is a trademark of Google LLC. Developer names and title names are used for identification only.
6. Intellectual property
Game titles, icons, screenshots, characters and trade marks belong to their respective owners and appear here for the purpose of identifying and discussing the titles reviewed. The editorial text, the structure of the catalogue, the design of the pages and the RunnerEdit name are ours. You may quote a short passage with a clear link back to the page it came from; republishing an entry in full, or reproducing the design, requires our written permission.
7. Third-party links
The site links to Google Play store pages. Those services are outside our control and have their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for their content, their availability, or anything you agree to on them.
8. Acceptable use
Please do not attempt to disrupt the site, retrieve it by automated means at a rate that degrades service for others, or present its content as your own work. Access may be suspended where use of the site causes harm to it or to other readers.
9. Disclaimer and liability
The site is provided as it stands. We do not promise that it will always be available, free of error, or that a title described here will behave the same on your handset as it did on ours. To the extent permitted by law, and subject always to the consumer protection legislation of your province or territory, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the site or from any title you choose to install after reading about it here.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the province in which the reader resides, and the courts of that province have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
11. Contact
Questions about these terms, corrections to an entry, or membership matters may be sent to the desk at desk@runneredit.com. We read every message.
